Rules of the Trade
So in order to have a racing horse you need to have a Jockey. Jockeys come in a variety of types and skill levels. Depending on what type of Jockey you have, your horse's stats will get an advantage or disadvantage. There is no need to have more than 1 jockey per track, as they can ride in all the races for that track. However if a week is taking place at two tracks, two jockeys will be required. Two jockeys will also be required for multiple entries to the same race. Jockey fees will be paid out of your earnings for a given week and equate to 10% of the earnings. Please see Earning Claims for more information.
Professional Jockey - Can ride both A and B weeks, up to 5 races on a card. (limit 3/5)
Amateur Jockey - Can ride either A or B in a given month, up to 5 races on a card. (limit 10) Apprentice Jockey - Can ride either A or B in a given month, up to 2 races on a card. (unlimited)
Pool Jockey - Professional advantage, one race per jockey. Can be used by multiple stables for different races. Charges $5,000/race. (limit 10)
*Hint: You will not be told how your horse reacts to a jockey, you will have to judge this based on the horse's performance in races. Jockeys for Hire
